On Thursday, June 30th a swearing-in ceremony was held at Malden PD headquarters for our newest officer, Walky Joseph. Officer Joseph graduated the Reading Police Academy earlier this week as a member of the 34th Recruit Officers Class. Officer Joseph is a veteran of the United States Army and served as a police cadet for several years with MPD. The ceremony was attended by Officer Joseph's family and friends, members of the department, command staff, and city officials. Following a department administrative orientation, Officer Joseph will begin a field training period where he will be assigned to Field Training Officers as he learns to apply his academy training to real life situations. We are proud to have Officer Joseph on our team and look forward to the work he will be doing in our community!
