Fire Chief William Sullivan, Firefighter Union President Eric Truesdale and Mayor Gary Christenson visited Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) at 5 Middlesex Avenue in Somerville to personally thank the medical workers and staff. CHA has provided the Malden Fire Department with professional Covid-19 medical guidance and care since April 1, 2020, and throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic.
They followed 87 of the 108 members of the Department who were potentially exposed to the virus. This was done through testing, in many cases testing members of the Department multiple times to ensure that it was safe for members to return to duty. “This service helped to protect, not only our members, but our families as well,” said Chief Sullivan. “Today we visited them to personally thank them and present them with a plaque acknowledging our sincere appreciation.”
