Mayor Gary Christenson is reaching out to Malden residents to fill two of the four newly created seats on the Malden Disability Commission. The Commission is comprised of volunteers who operate under the mandates of M.G.L. Ch. 40, Section 8J and its core mission is to eliminate discrimination against persons of differing abilities. The Commission provides information, education, referral, guidance, and technical assistance to public and private agencies, individuals, organizations and institutions to ensure that all persons have equal access to facilities, services and programs.
Per City ordinance, new members must be either an individual with a disability or have a family member with a disability. Meetings occur on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM. At this time meetings are held virtually via Zoom.
