The Malden Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy is a free, seven week educational program designed to offer local residents and business owners an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the Malden PD.

Topics Include:

  • About the MPD
  • Patrol Procedures
  • Criminal Law & Procedure
  • Use of Force & Officer Safety
  • Special Operations Unit
  • Traffic Enforcement & Vehicle Stops
  • Scams & Fraud Prevention
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Canine Unit

The 2020 Citizen’s Police Academy will run from March 18th to April 29th.  Week seven will include a graduation ceremony for all participants who completed the academy.

Sessions run on Wednesday Nights beginning at 6:00PM and will not exceed 2 ½ hours in length.

Applicants must be Malden residents or Malden business owners and at least 18 years of age.  All applicants are subject to a background check.

Class size is limited and will fill up quickly!  The deadline to submit an application is March 4th.  Applications will be reviewed and participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis.

If you would prefer, you may print the application or obtain one at police headquarters at 800 Eastern Av. and either mail or drop off the completed application prior to March 4th.
