Malden’s Housing Rehabilitation program provides financial assistance to improve housing occupied by low- and moderate-income residents. Program staff assist property owners in applying to the program, scheduling inspections, and hiring and overseeing contractors. The program covers a large number of rehab activities, including: structural, roofing, heating, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work; lead abatement and replacement of lead water service pipes; repairing health or building code violations; weatherization; and work that addresses many other common health and safety hazards.
The City of Malden’s Office of Housing Stability helps residents find and keep housing by providing services, assistance, and information to Malden renters, homeowners, and landlords. Services include rental assistance, eviction prevention, legal assistance, landlord-tenant mediation, housing search, and more.
The Malden Affordable Housing Trust Fund seeks to maintain and create opportunities for affordable housing so Malden remains a vibrant, diverse community where residents and families can stay and thrive.
