School Resource Officers

The School Resource Officer (SRO) assists the school administration in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. School administration benefit from the SROs training, knowledge and experience in handling situations involving possible weapons violations. The SRO provides a highly visible uniformed presence to deter or identify trespassers on school grounds. In addition, SROs provide a service to the surrounding community by addressing concerns such as loitering, illegal narcotic use and vandalism. SROs are further responsible for investigating violations of criminal law and when appropriate make arrests.  SRO's work closely with detectives assigned to the juvenile unit.
