Malden Is Moving

Malden is Moving! (MIM) is a Municipal Wellness and Leadership initiative, sponsored by the Malden Department of Public Health. This movement is focused on lowering the risk of chronic disease by supporting equitable food access and active living opportunities in the City of Malden. The City of Malden’s Public Health Department in collaboration with its partners at the YWCA Malden coordinates the Malden is Moving! initiative. Working with a diverse network of partners to implement proven policies and practices to create environments that support healthy living. Policy, system, and environmental changes (PSE) are a way of making sustainable, lasting change within Malden to make healthy choices practical and available to all residents.

This program collectively engages a cross-section of local agencies, community groups, businesses, coalitions, residents, and youth. Malden is Moving! will allow a new framework to make Malden a healthier community. Implementation & Staff

Malden is Moving! (MIM) will allow a new framework to make Malden a healthier community. The City of Malden Public Health Department in conjunction with its partners at the YWCA will coordinate the Malden is Moving initiative.

Chris Webb, Director of Public Health has appointed Christina Murphy as the MIM Coordinator. She coordinates the development and implementation of strategies that will improve healthy eating and active living for Malden residents.
