SECTION 11.57 LOCATION AND PLACEMENT OF PUBLIC SHADE TREES BY SIZE

Except in special plantings designed or approved by a landscape architect, no public shade tree may be planted at intervals less than the following:

Small trees: 15 feet

Medium trees: 20 feet

Large trees: 25 feet

No public shade tree shall be planted within 10 feet of a fire hydrant. No public shade tree shall be planted so as to obstruct, at full growth, a motorist’s view of any intersection. No public shade tree, except those classified as small or medium trees by the city Tree Board, shall be planted under any utility wire, or over or within 5 lateral feet of any underground utility.
