Works under the direct supervision of the DPW Director, Operations Manager, Supervisors and/or Working Foreman, to operate trucks with a rated capacity of more than 3 tons and up through 9 tons, including large tractors, dump trucks, tree bucket trucks, etc. Load and unload trucks, picks up and haul materials. Perform other minor preventative maintenance on equipment. Required to operate snowplows, sanders and motor equipment of a lower level of difficulty as needed. Performs necessary duties for the maintenance of all City streets and sidewalks. Performs manual labor tasks and any other tasks deemed necessary by the Director, OM, Supervisors and/or Working Foreman. Must be available for emergency calls beyond regular working hours as needed.
Without CDL - $40,560.00 ($19.50/hour) - $46,030.40 ($22.13/hour) With CDL - $46,924.80 ($22.56/hour) - $52,395.20 ($25.19/hour)
Current Commercial Driver’s License - Class B with air brake endorsement required. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience working in road construction, have knowledge in performing winter operations and be able to lift (50 lbs) fifty pounds. Strong ability in effective communication skills along with being punctual and dependable is a must.
