Grand Opening of Academy for Health Care Training

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Mayor Gary Christenson participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Academy for Health Care Training located at 388 Pleasant Street. Business owners and partners came together in 2014 to address the growing need for well-trained nurse assistants and home health care aides.  Marianne Mastrangelo, BSN, RN, Karen DeSilva and Elizabeth Reichman, RNC have more than 20 years training experience.

Beginning their business in Malden, they eventually expanded to Brockton and Cambridge. They are approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Professional Licensure. Their adult students come from many different countries. Graduates are qualified to work in nursing homes, home care, assisted living and adult day centers, and hospitals. They currently employ eight part-time nurses and expect to increase that number as the need for more classes grows. For more information, please www.academyhealthcaretraining.com.
