Bikeeny Caffe Opens in Malden

Thursday, May 31, 2018

Bikeeny Caffe, located at 62 Summer Street in Malden was the project of three longtime friends who emigrated from Republic of Moldova and yearned to bring a bit of Eastern Europe to this country. Serg Parfeni, Octavian Balatel, and Evelina Caraus each bring a unique set of skills to the business. Initially the business owners thought about operating a food truck business with great pastries and exceptional coffee. However, after consulting with local food truck owners, they decided a brick and mortar location would be a better option for them. And as Malden is one of the most diverse cities in Massachusetts, the decision on the location was easy.

The new owners are particularly proud of their pastries, including the “Bikeeny” a European style pastry made of flaky dough with fillings such as fruit, nuts or cheese. They also offer authentic Moldovan pies, Italian style coffee and all ingredients are carefully sourced. The new owners have invested more than $100,000 in the location and hope to expand to add more employees. For more information, please call 781-480-4020 or visit

A great turnout for the grand opening!
